Me, my son Casper and my friend Jon went to Gothenburg for the biggest outdoor and action sport exhibition in the Nordic region. We went there with basically no thoughts on what we were going to receive but after the day we were happy we went.
- Crazy bikers
- Hilleberg tents
- Casper doing his Pirate look! Treasure hunt and obstacle course were on the agenda.
- GoPro – what can I say? They were everywhere!
- Checking out some life vests for pack rafting
- Jon & Casper checking out the Hilleberg tents
- Jon browsing a photo journal from Island. Next years adventure maybe?
GoPro – damnit they’re everywhere! Everywhere you looked you saw a GoPro flag, logo or products. It’s quite obvious that the GoPro’s are just as common as Volvo is in Sweden. It’s expensive, but not that expensive that you can buy one for your upcoming skiing trip or whatever. Making it kind of a disposable helmet camera for many buyers 😉 And as Contour is off the market, GoPro has basically a monopoly with helmet cameras… I know, I know, Garmin and a few others has some too but they’re nowhere near these guys in picture quality etc. No wonder you see them in TV-documentaries all over the world. Have you ever seen a Garmin attached to a bike/helmet/plane i.e. a National Geographic series? Don’t think so…
Other than helmet cameras the exhibition featured almost everything the “ordinary” outdoor person would want. We however didn’t find any trekking poles which we both had hope to buy, hopefully with some discount. But we did find some undies instead, haha!
There were many tourist organisations attending Nordic Outdoor so we did find a lot of brochures with some good information about different trails all over Europe. In the picture above you can see what I brought home with me.
All in all this was a nice exhibition and if it re-appares next year I think I’ll visit it again.
