Bought a video camera today, camcorder, or whatever you want to call it. Lately I’ve noticed that I shoot more video than pictures with the result that my compacts doesn’t handle it as good as I’d want them too. They’re not bad by far but they’re still not made for shooting video just like a video camera isn’t made for shooting pictures even though they have the possibility to.
So, I have browsed the web for some time, visited my local dealer, Scandinavian Photo, and I finally fell for a Canon Legria HF G10. The camera is what the industry calls a ‘ProSumer’ camera, a combination from the companies Professional series and their Consumer-line. In this case they have adopted the CMOS sensor from their Pro-line making this a really good camera in low light and combined that with the body and menu-features from the consumer-line.
Designed to match the creative passion of experienced videographers, the LEGRIA HF G10 features professional quality Canon components and extensive manual controls for exceptional HD movies.
- Canon HD Video Lens
- Canon HD CMOS Pro sensor
- Professional audio
- AVCHD video to 32GB memory; 2x SDXC slots
- Full manual control
- 8.8cm Touch-screen LCD
- Instant AF; Face Detection
- Dynamic Optical Image Stabiliser
- Creative Cinematic Features
- HD-SD conversion
I was lucky when I bought this camera because they had combined it with some other products like a really good tripod and memory cards. The memory cards was actually a typo on their website but I still got them with the camera! Bonus!
